Non-traditional Doctor of Pharmacy Pathway

Admissions & Application Information

This online pathway is only for licensed, registered, and practicing pharmacists who already have a B.S. in Pharmacy degree and are seeking to upgrade their skillset by earning a Doctor of Pharmacy. Entry-level students should see the traditional Doctor of Pharmacy admissions information.

Application Deadlines

Applications for the Fall term may be submitted until the application deadline below, or until the class is filled, whichever comes first.

The Admissions Process

Only complete applications will be considered for an interview for the NTDP pathway. A NTDP Pathway Application Checklist is available to print.

Step 1 - Complete an online graduate school application

The online application does require a $30.00 non-refundable fee payable online by credit card, debit card, or check.

Step 2 - Documents to be mailed by you as a complete packet to the Office of Graduate Admissions

  1. NTDP Supplemental Application
  2. A notarized copy of a valid U.S. pharmacist license
  3. Curriculum Vitae

We suggest using services such as the US Postal Service's registered mail, or an overnight service, which provides tracking in the event that your application packet is lost or delayed.

Step 3 - Documents to be mailed by outside resources directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions

  1. Two (2) letters of recommendation from pharmacy colleagues
  2. An official transcript from the institution of higher education from where you obtained your BS in Pharmacy (or foreign equivalent) should be mailed directly to the Office of Admissions from the institution. Please use the Transcript Request Form for transcript requests.
  3. All foreign transcripts must first be evaluated by an accredited service before they can be reviewed by SU. We prefer World Education Services. You may locate other evaluation services on the Internet.

Invitation To Interview

After your complete application has been received, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with a pharmacy faculty member.

It is your choice whether the interview is conducted on-site at the school or online via a Web camera. On-site interviews are typically scheduled for Mondays and Fridays.


You will be notified of your acceptance approximately two weeks after your interview.

Accepted students are required to pay a tuition deposit in the amount of $500. The fee is non-refundable and should be mailed to:
